FRAME/OUT is a temporary video installation in the Bolzano city center. The city is shown by short film strips shot by its citizens between the 1950’s and 1980’s. The footage will be shown in the same places where it had been shot, allowing the spectators to confront past and present. The looped screenings will be beamed on (shop) windows or private windows in significant locations of the city center, such as squares or meeting points. The installation is distributed in different locations of the city center and the spectator is invited to follow a route along those historical memories and places. The shown footage creates a sort of trace of the past, which leads through obvious as well as hidden places. The screenings will be held at the end of October 2015, as a part of the 50 years anniversary of super 8. In collaboration with the Office for Film and Media of the German Cultural Office which is also the owner of the private footage archive „Bewegtes Leben“ (A life in movement). frame-out.org |
