Musician and filmmaker since 2000, I research and create using the microphones as film cameras, the instruments as a canvas, the photography as a word, blurring the boundary that demarcates the languages of sound and image. In 2006 I realize that the theatre, in all of its declinations, is the best field where I can develop my artistic research. Since then I’ve been focusing on the study and the development of original compositions, sound installations and live electronics, collaborating with many young italian theatre companies such as: Compagnia NUT, Riserva Canini, Zoe Teatro, Eco di Fondo, Zaches Teatro, Compagnia Bandini/Ferri, Menoventi. As a composer for the theatre I’ve been trying to create music dramas and soundscapes in such a way that they can communicate their message even out of the contest for which they were conceived.
Hearing is seeing / drammaturgie sonore is action, sound, noise, speech.
The soundscapes it is made of were created for being support and completion of certain theatre shows, but they resulted to be bearer of autonomous dramaturgical contents, which are able to evoke images and suggestions at the border between hearing and seeing.
It is presented in the form of an electroacustic improvisation. It brings on the scene parts of those soundscapes for the theatre, reinterpreted and expanded through the use of readymade concrete sounds, musical fragments produced by prepared chordophones, performed and processed live.
The resulting atmosphere develops through realism, metaphor, melodic minimalism and noise minimalism, with the aim of leading the spectator to see through the listening.
