La fotografia oggi è centrale nella nostra vita come non è mai successo in altri periodi storici. ''Consumiamo'' immagini quotidianamente, condividendole sui social networks, inviandole attraverso i messaggi, producendole in un flusso continuo che non si interrompe mai. La fotografia è diventata parte stessa di una nuova comunicazione: veloce, immediata e diretta. Senza sorprese.
36EXP nasce in contrapposizione a questo flusso continuo di immagini, riportando tutto a un livello ormai dimenticato. L'attesa e la sorpresa. La call ha invitato fotografi, amatori di pellicola ed entusiasti dell'emulsione ad esporre un rullo da 36 pose, con la massima libertà di soggetto e tecnica, e poi inviarlo a 36EXP senza svilupparlo. Praticamente un salto nel buio. Hanno risposto 41 persone, inviando 41 rullini da diverse parti del mondo. Tanti dall'Italia, ma anche Francia, Belgio, Olanda e Svezia, fino ad arrivare in Canada e negli Stati Uniti. Il risultato è stato molto interessante, e i progetti proposti arrivati sono stati assai diversi tra loro. Su tutti, una giuria ha selezionato 3 rullini. Saranno quelli che verranno esposti alla galleria Fotoforum dal 15 al 24 novembre. Le foto si troveranno anche sul sito di 36EXP. La nuova call 2019 sarà aperta da gennaio. |
Photography today is more central to our lives today than any another other period in history. We “consume '' images daily, sharing them on social networks, sending them through messages, & producing them in a continuous stream that never stops.
Photography has become part of a new communication: fast, immediate and direct. Without surprises. 36EXP is born in opposition to this continuous flow of images, bringing everything back to a now forgotten level: the pause and the surprise. The call invited photographers, film lovers and enthusiasts of the emulsion to expose a 36 roll film, with maximum freedom of subject and technique, and send it to 36EXP undeveloped. Virtually a jump in the dark. Forty-one people responded, sending 41 rolls from different parts of the world. Many from Italy, but also France, Belgium, Holland and Sweden to Canada and the United States. The result was very interesting, and the proposed projects arrived were very different from each other. Of these a jury selected 3 rolls. These will be exhibited at the Foto Forum Gallery in Bolzano (Italy) from November 15th to the 24th. The photos will also be on the 36EXP site. The new 2019 call will be open from January. |
