He told me a story he thought happened. Now he says he doesn't know if it happened. He told me this story from his past and he told me it was always in his mind. And now it is not. Not since he told me this story. He is not sure where it went, but it is no longer in his mind and since it is no longer there he does not know if it was ever there, he says. |
Harper Stone is a filmmaker, photographer and bookmaker living and working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His work deals with themes of memory and the passing of time; as an artist who experiences both aphantasia and sdam (severely deficient autobiographical memory) he engages in a life-long study of how image, video and text operate within an archive. Stone’s work is a visual form of acceptance: rather than a search for answers it is an endurance of questions. |
