Linda Izcali Scobie is a filmmaker, programmer, and projectionist living in San Francisco.
Her 16mm film work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at film festivals and venues such as LA Film Forum, Antimatter, Centro de Cultura Digital in Mexico City, XCÈNTRIC - de Barcelona and the Ann Arbor Film Festival; receiving the 2026 Susan Dise Best Experimental Film Award. Her films are distributed by Canyon Cinema.
In the Maritime Frequencies

Greta Snider's 2025 film In the Maritime Frequencies approaches climate change from a hyper-localized perspective, focusing on a stretch of San Francisco shoreline. Shot on celluloid, it was hand-processed using bay water, local fennel, and detergent runoff from the area.
The site, a spit of land on the city's southeastern shore, embodies past, present, and future. This former landfill still surfaces Navy yard relics and tombstone fragments from the past.
Today it's one of the city's last undeveloped public spaces. And fennel, mallow, and poppies are already spreading across the ground, a glimpse of what's next.
The film examines emotional representations of climate change, drawing on Susan Sontag's "The Imagination of Disaster" (1965), Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower (1993), and Kimberly Nicholas's Under the Sky We Make (2022), each linking climate disaster to the human psyche.

Greta Snider utilizes a combination of original and archival material to create nonfiction art cinema. Snider’s films, stereoscopic performances, and installations use the materiality of motion pictures to reshape themes of memory, loss, and personal histories in a more intimate, affective experience. Snider teaches experimental filmmaking at San Francisco State University, where she is faculty advisor to The Archive Project.
Legacy

Imagine finding an old film reel from the past, dated 2050. Instead of images of a thriving natural world, you uncover a decayed record of an altered landscape.
Sunlight filtering through trees is marred by bubbles and white blooms. Crashing ocean waves appear cracked, wrinkled, and blotched. Nothing is as we remember it. The environment we once knew has become a fading memory, aging, deteriorating, and uncertain. Was it ever real, or was it only a dream?

Leyla Mandel is an emerging visual artist and filmmaker. She is a recent graduate from Tufts University where she received a BFA in film and a BA in political science.
Her work explores the fragility of memory and loss in the wake of accelerated climate disaster. In her films she attempts to bring the abstract idea of climate catastrophe into intimate focus, connecting large-scale disaster to personal loss. She is currently studying montage at the Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
Parallel Lands

With Parallel Lands, Steven Woloshen repurposes an old 35mm film print of Gypsies Are Found Near Heaven (1976) by Emil Loteanu, a work echoing his family’s own migrational journey from the Ukraine.
Meditating on more than 600 years of travel and displacement, Woloshen walks the lengths of the film, treating the act as an experimental performance paralleling that journey.
Equally haunting as it is energetic, Parallel Lands animates archival material, exploring its corporeal dimensions. The result is a record of this performance wherein Woloshen placed the print on top of IMAX raw stock film in a dark corridor, and walked its length, exposing it to bursts of light.

Steven Woloshen was born in Laval, Canada in 1960. He holds a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Concordia University. For more than 40 years, he has passionately created over 50 award-winning, abstract films and time-based installations for festivals, galleries and museums.
Remembrance of Night Whispers

A young man catches a glimpse into his late father's enigmatic past.
Through a series of archival footage, with an interview inquiring into his father's ominous past, the son, Lucien finds aspects of himself in his father.
Exploring dark topics of family heritage, mental illness, and haunting, it reaches simple yet resonant discoveries.
A linguist specialized in literary translation, “Remembrance of Night Whispers" is an act of mythologizing Lucien Leung’s family history. He took inspiration from various sources, such as Classic of Mountains and Seas and strange tales that were passed down from generations back in China.
He hopes to find answers to questions that may define his very existence through this documentary.

Born and raised in a multicultural environment, Lucien Leung has been exploring how different languages can shape one’s psychological landscape. After declining an offer to study in counselling psychology, he decided to focus on linguistics while remaining interested in analogue filmmaking. He is currently co-writing a feature film with a Canadian director.
Void

Void centres on the 16mm film perforation as the subject, subverting its usual role as the apparatus for which the moving image can even exist.
The steady frame is corroded by dirt and decay before finally being completely obliterated.
