Personaje Secundario is a short film that reflects on the role of women in home movies and archives. The film decontextualises the images from their original subject and setting to construct a narrative and a dialogue between different women.

Through animation and the manipulation of the images themselves, the filmmaker blurs the presence of the male figure by stripping him of his face and body, thereby focusing attention on the women who accompany them.

Filmmaker, programmer and researcher Elena Calvo combines her professional and academic activities with cultural management of events and activities through the Algarabía Cultural Association, of which she is the founder. She has been a member of the jury at several festivals, collaborates with Casa Árabe in Córdoba and participated in the 16th edition of S8 in A Coruña. She recently organised and coordinated a week of activities around Memoria y Cine Doméstico and Muestra de Cine Palestino 1 at Casa Árabe.
