Man Made by Elian Mikkola
16mm / 2022 / Canada / 8’ 8’’ Man Made, a repurposed narrative of a boy who gets introduced to the wonders of life by a beautiful shining trumpet. But the struggle to be oneself has only begun. Utilizing found 16mm footage and both digital and analog manipulation techniques, the filmmaker pierces conventional masculinity with a transformative queer gaze. Elian Mikkola is a Finnish Moving Image Artist currently based between Treaty 4, Regina, and Montréal (Tiohtià:ke), Canada. Mikkola works closely with both analog and digital images and their hybrid extensions. Their work explores themes such as memory, spatial dependences and queer belonging. |

Perceptions assail us with their demands to be noticed. Richard Tuohy has created almost 40 films and screened at Melbourne IFF, EMAF Rotterdam IFF, and Media City, Annarbor, NYFF etc. He and his partner Dianna Barrie frequently tour their films internationally as well as conduct workshops in DIY cinema. He is the proprietor of nanolab artist-run film laboratory and conveinor of the Artist Film Workshop in Melbourne. |

Alina Tretinjak is a Vienna-based visual and performance artist working on the interconnection between analogue film(making) and dance.
